Islamic Center on Park51

The controversy and outrage over the proposed Islamic Center in downtown Manhattan, has lead to an even greater issue for America; Freedom of Religion. The politicization of the issue only polarizes the problem and doesn't even reach a common ground on how to resolve it. The solution is simple, I say build it. Here's why

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

Since the building is on private property, almost everyone has acknowledged the mosque has a legal right to be built. The problem is the sensitivity/compassion/understanding of those who died innocently by brutal terrorists on 911 should hinder the existence of the mosque. Here's the problem with the "sensitivity argument" which is.... it infringes on the Freedom of an individual rights. An example; Many Muslims view the caricature of the prophet (pbuh) as a sensitive issue. Yet proponents have said that "by giving in to the sensitivity of Muslims to these pictures, our freedom of expressions are infringed upon". Another example Terry Jones, head of the controversial church  Dove World Outreach Center, has called for "Burn Quran Day" on 911. We Muslims view this has hatred and irrational, but Mr. Jones is free to do as he pleases. First Amendment is clear on this issue, we individuals are free to do as we please "so long as we don't harm anyone". The mosque should be built solely because of that.
